Mixed Media South of France Journal – Page 5

It was a lot of fun to create my Mixed Media South of France Journal, and a lot  of work but I loved creating it with picture from France.

Here is the video for page 5 on how I made the pages.

Here is the original picture that I started with:

The background for the journal was  ink dyed using the All Purpose Inks from TSC Designs. http://stores.teacherstamp.com/inks/

The lower left pockets is covered with black organza over the picture. It gave it an interesting depth to the picture.

I used strips of  foam sheet behind the picture to raise it from the background and create a pocket.

The lace flower was ink dyed with the All Purpose inks. I made alcohol ink spray in green by adding the All Purpose ink to 1/2 of little spray bottle of isopropyl alcholol. Use at least 98%.

And here are the finished pages.

I wanted to create lots of pocket to keep memorabilia from her travels.  I put dummy tickets to show where the the pockets were located and even added a touch of whimsy – a Chuck E. Cheese ticket!

I hope this has inspired you to create something out of your normal comfort area.
